the 103 is a much better carthridge than the 301. the 103 is really good value for money. I have used both b4 and is sticking to the 103. No question about it.
The 103 is for low mass, the 301 is for higher mass. Did you try them both on the same tonearm? - if so, that's not a fair comparison, since only one would be of the correct type for your system.
