Denon AVR x2800H With Pood Dialog Sound

*FUNNY - I CAN EDIT EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE TITLE* THAT SHOULD READ "POOR" DIALOG SOUND

I have a Denon AVR X2800H home theater receiver.  I use it with an Apple TV STB via HDMI.  Speakers are Klipsch CDT 5800 CII in-ceiling speakers 5.1 surround.

Using the Apple TV STB, I can listen to music via Apple Music or, Pandora and everything sounds great.  I switch to YouTube TV app or, Netflix for watching TV or a movie and the dialog cannot be heard unless increasing the volume by 60 or 70%.  Even then, dialog is muffled.  I have tried everything from EQ to different Apple TV settings with no luck.  I’ve run the Denon Audyssey program multiple times and phasing is correct, etc. Denon support was not helpful.  Any ideas?

Have you by chance tried the “Enhance Dialogue” feature within the Audio setting of Apple TV? You can also access this setting while watching the majority of the apps, except for YouTube, though.

The only issue here is that it also reduces loud sounds - for example, car blowing up on the screen won’t sound as impactful.

If the “Enhance Dialogue” is not available, make sure your Apple TV is up to date.
