Dahlquist DQ10 Woofer Repair?

I need people's opinions on whether I should have my surround replaced (or attempt to do so myself) or spend a little extra and replace it with an after market woofer. Places like MCM Electronics sell woofers from the $20s to $60s so it may be just as cost effective to replace it.
My question then would become what specs other than size would I need to know before I could buy the new woofer?

simplyspeakers (simplyspeakers.com) sells kits for (I think)
$27, or will do it for you if
you mail them the speakers. I haven't done it or used
any of their products/services, but am considering it. You might also ask in an audio store for people who do it locally.

Regnar is the ONLY place to send your Dahlquist's in for repair. NO ONE ELSE knows the line better than they do, and NO ONE ELSE can bring them back to factory specs better than them. Go to www.regnar.com for more info...you won't be sorry.
I refoamed my DQ10's without any problems - sound great now. Took most of a day. Purchased the kit from SimplySpeakers.
I agree...there is no need to ship your speakers to Regnar for simply refoaming...unless you are contemplating their complete refurbishment...which costs close to 1k...I would ask your local hi-end shop...or try your luck DIY>...
