I am also considering these...have been told, fwiw, it does have a sound. It does tend to smooth out treble and tighten bass...in the treble, upper mid, have been told slightly less 'neutral' effect than Wave Kinetics N2S.

I have the 999 spike base under my Avantgarde Omega Duos. Made them sound much more like music und less hi-hi. Very expensive though
