I am beginning to doubt all the huge claims made by the cable companies. I have spent much money on high end cables and I can assure you that the differences are so slight that you must strain and concentrate to hear them. The magazine claims and dealer claims are definitely exaggerated and maximized to enrich themselves. Profit margins on regular gear is peanuts compared to the gold mine profits found in cable products.
Anyone compared new Shunyata w/old?
I was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to compare some of the new Shunyata power cords with a few of their replacements, i.e. Copperhead vs. Sidewinder Gold ? I have read in a thread that Caelin was leaning more towards using copper conductors more-so than silver to take out some of the "white" or bleached sound that some people complained about, especially in the older Taipan.
