Quick Klispch question
New Heresy IIIs are an absolute bargain for a USA product built to amazing standards...look inside a pair of these (take a screwdriver to audition these as, obviously, dealers never hesitate to let you take things apart, right?) and everything is ...
Best Way to Integrate Subwoofers?
If you don't have room for a swarm system (4 boxes and cables might not work for you), a couple of well places subs (I prefer RELs) using the high level input can sound astonishingly good. I don't like digital EQ as it simply adds more junk to the...
Speakers for restaurant
I like Mackie speakers, and powered ones aren't particularly expensive...QSC has nice ones also, and with something like that they can easily be used as live sound PA speakers, as well as very loud and robust, or soft, background music speakers.
Anyone compare Klipsch Forte 3 vs new JBL L100?
You might notice the huge efficiency difference...99db for Forte IIIs (8ohm), 90db for the L100s (4 ohm). I have Heresy IIIs and that efficiency (same as Fortes) is a cool thing.
Is it just me or does the "new" posting parameters seem like there unproductive?
Also "do."
Is there an affordable long run XLR preamp to amp cable out there?
I just mixed a live concert using a 100 foot snake and, as usual, it sounded great with no limitations.
Component isolation
Nobody talks about the fact that component isolation can lead to component loneliness. Sad.
Is it just me or does the "new" posting parameters seem like there unproductive?
"They're."
Lets replace my Klipsch La Scala Speakers
I think synergy with the rest of your gear matters big time with speakers, and the surprising match (surprising because I hadn't been paying attention to Klipsch stuff) that Heresy IIIs have with my little Dennis Had SE tube amp could explain a lo...
Why are you into hi end audio?
I think a better question, and one that I ask from time to time (not around here, and often rhetorically...still), is why AREN’T you into high end audio? Answers I get are generally things like, "what's that?"...or "it's so complicated"...or "it's...
Soundstaging and Imaging: Not an Illusion
Forget about silly alleged "micro vibrations" and pseudo science remedies, own some furniture and rugs, move the speakers and maybe a sub or two around until they sound good, and relax and listen to some music.
Best Headphone system under $1000???
I use phones for late night reading mostly, and after wearing out some very old Grado SR60s (I like the Grado "house sound") I replaced them with SR80s...improvement for sure...running an old iPhone that still connects with the net as a source. I ...
Casual PC speakers for music
"Edifier" R1700s or whatever they're called now are astonishing $150 powered bluetooth or direct connection speakers. Bought a pair for my daughter and was amazed at how good they are when I heard 'em at her place. Supplied with remote, tone contr...
Really...My favorite power tube is reissue that's not widely popular
JJ KT77s are so inexpensive that I bought a pair a while back, and they sounded (surprisingly) so much worse in my Had SE amp that I simply shrugged and considered it a lesson learned. Maybe some amp synergy with the JJs was off, and I even tried ...
This Schitt is totally refreshing in the world of high end audio!
Since my Freya and power amp both use 6SN7GTBs I now have a pile of these things, and the original tubes (mystery Russian 6N8S) sounded fine. No microphonics from those or NOS RCAs, Sylvania, or new version Tung Sols...I currently have RCAs in the...
