What do you consider "loud" for your system?
The PA systems I've designed and operated have huge amounts of headroom using a fraction of the power available, and are extremely clean. I can only assume souindsrealaudio has no experience with these things.
Schitt turntable anyone?
I'm wondering how sensitive this thing is to "foot faults" or really any outside vibration, and if they're planning to make the aforementioned "floaters" for that purpose. I'll be waiting to see the reviews of course, but this thing clearly looks ...
Paean to a Fuse (and a tip of the hat to Chris Van Haus)
I do like power cords as they get the AC from the wall to my gear...a good thing. There are no "alternative facts."
Paean to a Fuse (and a tip of the hat to Chris Van Haus)
A pause to the paean, or "Can't stand the paean": If the material in your fuse, i.e. copper or silver or gold or voltage bombarded cryoed spinach stems seems to cause a change in the overall sound of the system, you’re imagination is running wild ...
What speakers use a "minimal" crossover?
Sonist.
High value, giant killer speakers?
I’m also a musician, and I was pleasantly surprised after all these decades as an audio freak and live sound mixer/system designer that Klipsch Heresy IIIs sound as good as they do. Until I bought a Dennis Had SEP amp which was initially used with...
What do you consider "loud" for your system?
A "good" system can sound annoyingly loud well before distortion sets in, to think otherwise is foolish. My main listening rig is a 12wpc amp with 99 db speakers that will play loud and clean using a few watts 9 feet from my ears...In the pro live...
Great musicians who should have been famous except....
Bill Stewart is astonishing...I've seen him over the years with Scofield, and 2 current heavy rotation albums around my house are "Toy Tunes" with Larry Goldings and Peter Bernstein, and "Band Menu" with Larry Grenadier and Walter Smith III...high...
Has anyone write audio review on HIFIADVISOR?
You might be disqualified from writing anywhere if you're deemed unable to edit your own thread title.
I like this....
Music without sound is music that's possibly just in your head, although you can still hear it...just try ignore the voices talking to you..."Ishkabibil...change your name...shave your head...shave everyone's heads..."
Neil Young Interview
Young seemed oblivious to whatever improvements the high end crowd was doing with digital sound, and his hoping his Pono "Toblerone" gizmo would clean the earballs of the "great unwashed" proletariat was lame...and failed utterly.  Well recorded d...
Searching for matching(?) Subwoofer solution
If my 2 RELs (run in mono) seemed to be lacking anything at the 58hz or so point where they match the bass rolloff of my main speakers, I'd consider the "swarm" system, although 4 boxes and the wires are somewhat off-putting. Also, my RELs cost ab...
How thick should the front baffle of speakers be?
Whatever happened to those things you would stick to the sides of your speakers to deaden them? Did those pass into tweak history? (I don't really care) Note that my current speakers, Klipsch Heresy IIIs, tilt back so anything placed on the top ju...
Great musicians who should have been famous except....
I never liked anything from the Moody Blues, but as with most working Rock and Roll musicians coming up through the 70s who saw a Little Feat show you'd think, man, that's an astonishing friggin' drummer. Feat were worshipped by Zep and many other...
Has anyone finally decided to sell their Turntable and Vinyl collection?
People dumping their vinyl rigs and albums seems like sort of pathetic news, and nearly unworthy of comment beyond the self congratulating "I still love my vinyl" responses...do the people abandoning analog want to feel better somehow? "Here's why...
