Static electricity pulled the rubber mat right off the Turntable!
@knollbrent If I may, I’ve noticed several of your posts here that could involve a lot of system changes. Expensive system changes. I’d recommend slowing down an then address room acoustics before going forward. It can be fun, but it will be benef...

I agree the most here that for a TT bearing, a separate product that needs to be applied prior to and in addition to the bearing lubricant is not necessary.I would concur that products such as Caig that are meant to be applied on electrical conduc...
Recommended phono stage to go with McIntosh
It’s hard to sway anyone away from ’same manufacturer’ components since they are designed to work well together. Your best bet may be to stay with Mac?Forgive me if I’m too forward. You provided a link to your system on another thread and since yo...

@whart Without looking it up, I believe the latest remasters (they are remasters...not reissues/very important distinction), came out in late 2016, early 2017 as Sony/Legacy.I think all of the issues you noted are relevant in any preliminary discu...

Thanks @whart There in lies the rub. How much time, effort, money one wants to spend for (any differences in SQ).?An ongoing dilemma?Would you care to ascribe a SQ rating on a % basis...say on the original MFSL to the current remastered version? (...
Using Maple Butcher Block Under a Turntable
@noromance I assume you use a 10" because of the raised lip on most vinyl records, that would leave some area unsupported, still not flat.... Would a flat profile lp be better? Or..cut the outer lip off of a regular lp and smooth the edge off?

I meant to add, I own the latest Audioquest brush and do not find I’m as enthusiastic about it as MF.Another option, would be for DIYers or owners of tts that have sufficient clearance is to affix a brush similar to the AQ or a carbon fiber brush ...
Wet Cleaning records makes things worse?
The new Pro-Ject cleaner seems to be really well thought through. I’m planning on making a DIY stand, similar to the Gem Dandy to use in my sink as a holder/spinner to rinse lps after I steam them.

@lewm That makes perfect sense to me.
Thumbs up for ultrasonic record cleaning
@terry9 I have a question specifically for you..I'm currently experiencing the lps sticking to the O-rings on my vinyl stack, especially when/if I leave the lps clasped in it overnight.Have you experienced this? Could it be a result of the Versacl...

@stickman451 If you're up to it, go to the "Thumbs up for ultrasonic record cleaning" thread. It is enlightening.Happy Listening!

@stickman451 I haven't heard the latest (remaster), based on the latest remasters I own, I'd suspect it is a contender.,I recently recleaned my original MFSL and thought it sounded just fine. I do own around 6 copies of this lp, need to do a shoot...

@raymonda ,I guess I thought that "Metal Lube" was an unknown to most here (me included), which is why I thought the OP should have described it in his initial post, thus decreasing confusion going forward and increasing the probability of positiv...
