ABS: What Is The Trouble With Measurements.
@larsman Good point, but I don't think that I need measurements for those things -- my common sense is good enough for them and also for audio. Nothing is at stake because common sense is all I need!
ABS: What Is The Trouble With Measurements.
I go 100% by listening; I couldn't tell you the measurements of much of anything in my listening chain. That stuff has just never interested me.  @larsman I feel the same way about my cholesterol. If I feel good, the numbers don’t matter at all...

Thank you for posting this. I'm very interested in the epistemology of listening and it is news to me that a well known publication is daring to put "philosophical" as the header of a column.
Adding a sub. - can i start with one?
+1 on the idea of a SWARM, especially in your space and for less $$ than two REL's.
Adding a sub. - can i start with one?
A single sub properly setup will improve overall SQ-but it’s subjective like EVERYTHING in audiophooland. The improvement past one sub was not better in a "subjective"  sense. As if it was just my whimsy that I liked it better. No, it was bette...
Does a REL subwoofer make the speakers' job easier?
@gladmo I hear you and @bdp24  has written a post on subs for the Ages. Really fantastic. REL is clearly a good product and they have a very vocal and earnest fan base. As I said, I love my REL sub. BUT, as mentioned in bdp24's post, the ability ...
Words of wisdom on choosing a speaker

looking for a more efficient speaker.....
From what I can see about the Alon's, they're excellent. Information about your amplification is critical.
Devore or Audio Note or other sensitive speakers: wanting to listen in Denver
@chrisoshea Yes, I did. Ascend Acoustics Sierra Towers (RAAL) tweeter. They work very well with tube and with my Pass XA 25. They are not likely my endgame speakers but are really excellent. I hope to write up a commentary about them sometime soon...
Which pair of speakers changed your Hifi life?
I never owned them, but when I was 20 I visited my older cousin in Northampton, MA and he had very very large Maggies. I don't know the model. Let's just say there's the period in your life before you lose your virginity and the period afterwards,...
Have you ever solved a high end audio issue using non-audio technology? Or, visa versa?
@clearthinker It was my room. That photo was from an experimental phase. Some of you might know @brownsfan . He and I corresponded for months. He discovered that when a cd rack was placed in a way that diverted some of the direct sound, it resulte...
Billie or Ella? Maria or Renata? Technique or feeling?
de gustibus non est disputandum
Which would you choose for good sounding tube preamp for an audiophile new to tubes.
@ditusa My mistake! Apologies. Hope folks enjoy the photo anyway.
Have you ever solved a high end audio issue using non-audio technology? Or, visa versa?
I used plywood boards, mounted on stands, as deflectors near speakers to help with FRF and DRF. Works amazing. If someone could make a nice version of this (Chinese screen design, perhaps ceiling mounted) there is a major audio product in this ide...

@ditusa said, I think, that the Quicksilver is not point to point wired. I have a Quicksilver. I love it. Happy to chat on message with OP if desired. It is point to point wired. Here is the inside.
