Does altitude change the sound of speakers?? To find your answers to these and other pressing questions, read Mary Roach, author of Packing for Mars, and other scientifically tangential books.
Does altitude change the sound of speakers?? I almost suggested the OP bring the listening room along for a comparison. That's one advantage of making a cargo container your listening room; you can bring it along! Would hate to set up a rig on the long wall, though. OP could 3-D print a copy...
Does altitude change the sound of speakers?? Yes, it makes them sound higher by about 4,500 feet. Lower efficiency speakers suddenly become higher efficiency. A Magnepan can be driven by a 3 Watt amp whereas in Ohio one needs 200 Wpc. ;) Other than that, I suspect that changing a pair of in...
Does the 'Buck' Start with the DAC? Everyone is always shocked at how much improvement can come from a streamer, a DAC, an amp, etc. They also tend to think that with any major improvement they don’t have much left to improve. That is a poor conclusion. This is typical; all systems ...
In the middle of a pandemic, Stereophile reviews ~ $30K equipment Perhaps, as happened to me, a review of a pricey component started well before Covid-19 scare, and wound to conclusion now. Sometimes it takes months for a product to come to the reviewer! I think you are ignorant of the realities of reviewing and...
A bit more punch than my Pathos? As the one who explored extensively the "Pathi", or two Classic One units bridged, I assure you that the performance upgrade is substantial when using them mono. I'm guessing you have read my review of the twin units, or "Pathi" at Dagogo.com, but...
Are integrated amps technically better than separates? Tim, you may wish to consider upgrading the 3.7i jumpers, and the power cord(s) and XLR. I would guess Magenpan might frown on the jumper replacement, and of course it would be "do at your own risk", however there is discussion of it to be found. ...
Are integrated amps technically better than separates? Ditching the preamp may, but certainly is not, an assurance of superior sound. Soundstage and tonality may suffer without a preamp. But, of course, apart from actual comparison the responses are generalities that can be overturned in any comparison.
Are integrated amps technically better than separates? As might be expected, answers will vary. Without comparison of actual units this is a thought exercise only having limited benefit to actual system building. Results vary widely and wildly dependent upon the particular components and system build....
Rules of getting best audio ? maybe.. You think you have a list! :)
Comparing the Magnepan .7 to the Klipsch Heresy II One is like driving a brick, the other like driving a tin can. ;)
Matching for Music: Speakers or Electronics? On this forum scroll down to the thread "If you listen to anything other than Classic Jazz..." Read that thread and you will gain some insight.
What the heck do these terms mean? It is not nearly as easy to describe sound as it is to read about it. Also, properly, the description should be of the system, not the individual component. The only exception to that might be after many systems have been used and a pattern emerge...
Need help replacing my beloved Magnepan.... Good job; smart to audition. Enjoy! When you stop licking your wounds about the Maggie sound you will realize that when alternative systems are put up well, they can outperform panels in other aspects of performance. Panels in no way have it all, ...
Looking for an integrated amp around 4000 to 5000. Entertaining how everyone has zeal for particular recommendations, given the fact that they have zero knowledge of how it would integrate. Like betting on horse races. |
