@jtsnead Never tried the ART-9, but this is my old ART-2000 on Reed 3P "12 "9.5 Reed is much cheaper than "12 inch, i hope you can get one in your price range. Here is a picture of short Reed arms from ArtisanFidelity
SL1200GAE New Tonearm
@johnnyb53 When Technics introduced the SL1200, they also introduced the SL120, which--instead of including a Technics tonearm--included a SME-compatible armboard. It was in 1975-1977, but good idea. New SL-1200GAE, G, RG series without technics...
SL1200GAE New Tonearm
I would recommend Reed tonearms, if you will check for 9,5" inch versions the pivot to spindle distance is 223mm, all you need is 3 holes to screw in the tonearm to the armboard, but the cable will stay above the armboard. Reed 3P, among other fe...
Turntable Consolidation. Is it a Consideration?
You have a nice arsenal, i always trying to reduce the quantity of my turntables in the main system to just 2 (with 4 arms), i know it’s hard to make a decision, there is something special about vintage High-End turntables. Friends always ask for ...

@helomech audiogon members already bought several samples from that seller and you can find their posts here. Averyone can return any item for full refund if they bought it on ebay, the risk is return shipping only. I can say that only one of my 3...

Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
@cleeds  That's interesting. Will you please explain @chakster the nature of your "professional needs?"  broadcasing, radioshows, event management, djing ... since 1996i used to run a small record shop in 1998-2000, we've been selling technics tu...
who knows ZYX retipping or refurbish ?
I will not return to the ZYX, this story has ended for me. I have much better cartridges for my needs. Also i don't like refurbished cartridges, i prefer the originals. No more ZYX, it is not my price category. I wish i could find used FR-7fz, Ike...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
It's nice that Concorde available with FineLine stylus. I've been using all concorde models for professional needs in 2002-2007 while i've been able to get access to dealer prices as my friend was a distributor in Lithuania. When i discovered Grad...
who knows ZYX retipping or refurbish ?
When my Premium 4D was damaged Mehran of SoraSound recommended SoundSmith as an option, but ONLY if the original ZYX exchange program is not affordable.  Anyway, i don't use ZYX cartridges anymore for practical reason.
who knows ZYX retipping or refurbish ?
@nandric do you think nakastuka-san just sent him a brand new cartridge anyway? If that was an old model like Yatra or Fuji then the generator must be different compared to the latest models. I think the better idea is to upgrade to the latest mod...
Technics 1200 Critic Fremer Praises the newer 1200G
@glupson  Now, when you mentioned Luxman, I have my eye on their latest turntable just for the looks. The only reason why I have not bought it is the belt drive. I am sure it is great, but the idea of having to change belt is not that appealing n...
AT OC9/II vs AT OC9/III
@bpoletti You should considering ART-2000 on top of the AT-OC9/II and AT-OC9/III The ART-2000 has the same size/shape, but it was limited edition model, great cartridge: https://www.audio-technica.co.jp/atj/products/cartridge/at-art2000.html
who knows ZYX retipping or refurbish ?
@andychris good to know, but you said the price was almost like the brand new model from the newer series, once i upgraded from Airy III to Premium 4D the difference was noticable. Which old model you decided to keep?  I believe the body is the sa...
Technics 1200 Critic Fremer Praises the newer 1200G
@glupson Why would this one satisfy DJs and "audiophiles" while some other one would not? Pitch control is the key for DJing, that’s why Technics SL1200mkII became DJ standard. You will never find any DJ turntable without pitch control fader. It...
