SL1200GAE New Tonearm I have no idea how you can compare the tonearm with one set of internal wires to the same toneam with another set of internal wires. You must have a computer memory as the rewire process could take a few hrs. Or you need multiply samples of the sa...
Any Love for the Grace F10 L Moving Coil Cartridge Anyone familiar with this Grace HS-7 headshell with treated holes (about 15g, aluminum die cast) ? According to model number it was release after their famous Carbon Fiber HS-6 headshell. But the HS-7 is pretty rare and probably made for grace LOM...
SL1200GAE New Tonearm Silver or Copper it is all depends on individual preferences, there no absolute. I've tried Silver Van Den Hul on my old EPA-100, but i use copper since that on all my tonearms. Also what's the point to use Silver inside the tonearm tube if the ex...
Is it possible to mount cartridge without using a protractor? @invictus005 That's not true, Mint is a pience of plastic for $130, there is no pivot to spindle measurement "on the fly" for ANY tonearm. Also MINT for its price does not have ALL 3 Alignments (Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson). Dr. Feickert's second...
Is it possible to mount cartridge without using a protractor? Just to let you know the Technics alignment is very close to Stevenson, but not exacrly Stevenson. Well, at least on the old decks, but i think geometry of the new tonearm is the same as the old one. For the price of Mint Best Tracktor (which is ...
Is it possible to mount cartridge without using a protractor? You see this white plastic headshell holder ? There is a mark on it, stylus tip must be above this mark, adjust your cartridge in the headshell. This plastic gauge (52mm) is from the old Technics, but i think you got the same with GR.
Phono (0.1- 0.22mV+) or step up for LOMC? I think @nandric has at least two big boxes of ARS components in his system.
SL1200GAE New Tonearm If we have to rewire Technics GAE tonearm or Technics 10.5 on SL1000R then i don't know what to say ... Why shall we rewire reference tonearm from Technics made today for audiophiles ??? It make sence to rewire an old SL1210mkII, but a brand new ...
Grado Stylus Upgrade .Thanks for your input as well. From what I've read is that the XTZ cartridge has been out of production for a while. Besides, if I would spend $450+ on just the stylus, for the same money why wouldn't I just upgrade the entire cartridge?? You'...
Grado Stylus Upgrade XTZ stylus alone cost $450+ and it was top of the line stylus, you can try 8MZ for $150 or much better stylus for more. It worth it as the stylus is the most expensive part of the cartridge.
SL1200GAE New Tonearm @invictus005 Reed is out of Lithuania. I was born there. Interesting... Oh, really? That's nice. Loads of friend in Lithuania. I went there to meet up with people from Reed to buy my 3p tonearm. Vilnius is not far from St.Petersburg.
Furman solves ground loop issue? I hope your interconnect cables are well shielded and designed for phono signal, not just regular interconnects. Also i hope your tonearm is grounded, you can try additional wire with stripped ends (one to you phono ground input, another stripped ...
SAEC Making Tonearms Again! "The WE-8000 is the only SAEC tonearm where the offset of the headshell is correct. The SAEC 506/30 was designed to be used with 10" and singles only. It’s geometry does reflect it. Out of curiosity I have calculated a different alignment for the 5...
