Does anything better Jelco arm ~$1000
I will read up on the Victor UA-7045. What vintage is typically available and are they all the same? You have to look for UA-7045 or 7082 index only.make sure to check side image or the armwand and counterweight in the extreme position on the end...
Does anything better Jelco arm ~$1000
Jelco has a knife-edge bearings and it's not for every cartridge. My advice is to look for Victor UA-7082 (long version of the mighty UA-7045). It's a beautiful tonearm and within your budget! If you don't really need a "12 then just buy Victor UA...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
@best-groove I see your SP10 II and from the picture I recognized some identical images on ebay ........ it is you who had for sale on ebay until yesterday the mat Saec 300? Yep, i just sent you PM here on audiogon about your request for the foo...
Running a LOMC in MM setting?
My advice is to upgrade your Dynaudio monitors. If you don't make your own production (music) why do you need inexpensive, active near field studio monitors for analog playback? Look for a decent passive bookshelf or florstanding speakers. I know ...
Running a LOMC in MM setting?
You can not damage your cartridge with 47k Ohm loading, use it if you like it, absolutely no harm for the cartridge. We have many audiogonners who preferred 47k Ohm for LOMC cartridges. So you can use MM input (47k Ohm) for your MC cart. As for th...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
@downunder The Tenuto fits the SP10 mk3 and Pioneer P3 fine. Not as perfect as the cu-180 - but at least you can remove it without the need for suction cups :-).I simpy flipped over the entire SP-10mkII to remove CU-500 or CU-180 easily without ...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
What about the size Tenuto? Micro Seiki fits in (for Technics SP10mkII platter) like it was made for it, not like other mats which can be smaller or bigger in diameter. Micro Seiki is the best for Technics owners. The CU-500 is much thicker than C...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
My friend decided to make a custom armboard for his Obsidian Plinth. The reason is that the original armboard position is still too high for Victor UA-7045 tonearm to make the arwand parallel to the record surface. I don't know why Technics made i...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
You are lucky, because ugly looking and scratched CU-180 goes on ebay for much higher prices nowadays. I sold my spare last year for $750 to another audiogon member, but it was MINT- condition, this is the picrure. It’s nearly impossible to find M...
SP10mk2: OMA Graphite plinth vs.Dobbins plinth
@best-groove The AT-616 is much bigger in diameter than the older AT-636.The 616 supports up to 60kg! But the smaller AT-636 support only 36kg max. Actualy on those pictures you see the mega rare 2.7kg CU-500, not 1.8kg CU-180 mat. SAEC SS-300 is ...
Reed 3P dealer
@nrenter i was programmed for "12 inch at that time, that was the best length for Technics SP-10mkII, but today i can use any length on my two Luxman PD-444s. Probably 10.5 is the best, they are also slightly cheaper than "12 inchBut it's imp...
Fidelity Research cartridges
@ddriveman nice, that 85th Anniversary has the most attractive look of all SPU, the finishing is superb. So the damper of your Technics stylus for EPC100 mk4 was fine?
Pioneer PLX 1000 ancestry
None of the professional DJs never use those turntables, exept for the Pioneer and Pioneer team (who got paid for it). Stanton and Audio-Technica made for the amateurs as the cheap alternative to the classic Technics SL1200mkII which is still avai...
Fidelity Research cartridges
Long time ago i’ve come across this page in japanese, revisited it last week i realized the price for Fr-7fc is the highest among all of them (100 000 Yen in 1981), even higher than FR-7fz with refined LineContact tip (80 000 Yen in 1981) for some...
MC cartridge mini-shootout: SPU, Koetsu, FR, Ikeda
The Royal have all the SPU attributes but has detail, refinement, soundstage, smoothness and musicality but more punch and dynamics than the Royal You’re comparing Royal to Royal, but it’s probably Royal and Gold? Just to make it clear and i hope...
