New Gold Note PH 10
No matter what cartridge you're using with Gold Note phono stage, i don't think people change loading for each record, this is crazy! What you can change is RIAA for certain pressings, this is Gold Note exclusive. Why do you want someone else to t...
Next upgrade for my analog source
So what’s the alternative to your MP 200 then?!? I suggest a very NICE MM cartridgeLet us know how it all goes, but the first and most imortant step would be a top MM cartridge, I’d say. 😉M. I agree with the statement above. Stanton SC-100 WOS is...

Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
I use and like SAEC SS-300 mat, but never tried those tonearms, they are very very popular here, but it's knife-edge bearing design. Some people like them, i am not interested in SAEC tonearms, too many great tonearms available.
Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
Your ’’short’’ headhells are very frustratingwhen one need to ’’wrestle ’’ with them in order to get them connected with both : cart connectors and headshell connectors .Add to that different dimensions of headshell ’’clips’’ for thecarts as well ...
Who's done it besides me ?
Chakster to each his own. Only MM cartridges have removable styli. I know of no MM cartridge including the Ortofon 2M Black that can approach the performance of a modern MC cartridge, or a wood bodied Grado. I have owned all of them, Shure, Picker...
What's the best integrated amp in the $1500-$2000 range?
I like your suggestions! Can they actually be found for the OP's price point? Used? Definitely, i've seen all of them for sale used under $1500, Red Wine is actually much cheaper, even under $1k
Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
EL = effective length The effective length is the distance from pivot to stylus. When we move stylus in the headshell slots back of forth for different null points (Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson) we are changing EL (Effective Length). The differen...
Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
Not sure if this is directed at me @chakster but I am trying to figure this out too.  Why is the 231.5 recommended by some when the manufacturer recommends 230? Question for everyone. It's a conspiracy theory ? I just use what Ikeda suggested us...
Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
This is so strange, do you really think that Ikeda, who designed all FR tonearms, and later went on his own with Ikeda tonearms, have no idea about "error" in PS distance ? IKEDA are modern tonearms, designed not in the 70’s like thos old FR. The ...

I think @atmasphere could cut an acetate too :) Any pressing plant can do that.
Fidelity Research FR64s Headshell dilemma
@nandric please read and look at the null points printed on the same protractor for different alignments. When we alight a cartridge we check 3 points step by step on Feickert. We do NOT altering PS, instead we just adjust cartridge position in th...
New TT for ~$1500
@luisma31  If i were you i would buy a better MM cartridge for this old Technics turntable, i would definitely rewire internal tonearm cable and external phono cable. Actually i've done that before with my pair of SL1210 mkII (added kab fluid damp...
