David Gray - "Mutineers" Again! There are some fine songs on this album. Some of his best IMHO. And it's All Killer, No Filler! But the kicker is the final 4 songs from the album: "Birds of the High Arctic", "The Incredible", "Girl Like You" and "Gulls" If you're a fan and don't know the record, take a listen. If you aren't familiar with David Gray, take a listen. If you don't have time for the whole album, start at "Birds of the High Arctic" and take a listen to those last 4 tracks. Heavenly to me... |
McCoy Tyner - Live at Newport. This is a bit of a disappointment. The shipper did a terrible job packing it and all four corners got dinged up in shipping. It's a limited edition of 210/500 pressings. It's on clear "audiophile vinyl" that looks kind of like the Classic Records clear vinyl, but it's got some noise here and there. |
@bkeske I bought it awhile ago after you gave me the idea. I think there was some discussion about the composer together with @tomic601. I got NM records in a beat up box. I really like it. Franck is one of my favorite composers although there isn’t that much of his work available so I usually buy anything I see of his if it’s decent grade. Really like that album too. @slaw Cool. I hope you enjoy it. It’s not exactly easy listening. Kind of bridges the gap between angular and challenging on the one hand and soft and beautiful on the other. YMMV of course. |
I listened to my Latino ST-70 last night. I LOVE those 7581's in it. I'm convinced that there is no better amp under $2k and will compete with higher $$$ Molly Hatchet - 1st ST - an under rated band IMO ZZ Top - Rio Grande Mud - London records Layla Zoe - Breaking Free - A new favorite - Fantastic artist & album Steve Miller - Book of Dreams 38 Special - Special Forces Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story (MFSL CD) |
@bslon +1 on Charlie. Underappreciated group. Not flashy but at times just the thing. My theory is they don’t get respect they deserve because it generally hard to believe such great album covers could contain equally great music…..

ELO - Face The Music Very early pp I have had since back in the day. sounds pretty good and a great album. ELO has been on this thread a bit recently so had to pull this copy and play it. Dianna Krall - The Look Of Love I received this two weeks ago and played it only once. Time to play it again. Outstanding recording and pressing. Excellent music. Just sit back and relax. Beautiful! |
@j_husker I’ve been wanting to get to the in groove for awhile. Glad you got the chance. Seems like a great store. I see on YouTube all the thousands of used records he takes in and he seems like a true enthusiast. Ive bought quite a few records from him online - figuring he’s owed the business when his videos are how I find out about many issues. Home Depot box huh…? Hope it had good padding inside. Will look forward to hearing more about your score. |
@felixa - Welcome to the best thread on AudiogoN! Keep 'em coming... |
So my wife and I took a little vacation last week and happened to have time to stop into The Inn Groove in Phoenix. Suffice it to say I paid Mike’s utilities for the month. My purchases were too much to put in luggage and they showed up today in a Home Depot box! I took the mono cart off the back up table today and put a VM740ML on it. I’m not even sure where to start. @slaw I keep a list going on my phone of all my record orders. I’ve had to copy and move that one up the list several times so as not to forget it. Really looking forward to having my own copy of Shangra-La ( and the rest, only a couple of repeats) hope it’s a good pressing. |
