Graz EMIM

I am redoing a pair of Infinity 4.5’s for an individual.  I was telling him that there are two options- the OEM style aftermarket replacement and the Graz, which has some of the attributes of the Apogee.  I’m having difficulty finding out anything much more than "they really sound good".  I saw one photo where the part was lying on the bench behind the subject of the photo and semi out of focus.  It looked like an EMIM diaphragm with no side attachment.  Then I see images of it installed and it appears to be pleated, which the other photo does not.

It’s a great deal of additional expense for the upgrade.  But more than that, I don’t want to endorse something that I’ve never heard for someone else and all I can tell them is "A couple guys I don’t know said they’re good"

Info, pictures, evaluations beyond "better" are very much welcome.

I have Graz’ new XLM on my IRS Beta.  I sent my EMIMs to Graz for a full refurbishment and fitting of the new XLM.

They look pleated (see below)

Sound:  yes "they sound better".  Much better actually.  I have not measured them but they are very clear and fast.  What I noticed immediately is a deeper and wider soundstage.  To my ears, vocals and wind instruments are effortless.

I installed one side at a time and could tell the difference right away.  My EMIM were perfect, I was just trying to improve with much recent technology.

They did not change the cohesion or balance of my Betas.

I like them so much, I am having Graz make me a set of 4 LEMIM with his technology.  The original LEMIM are perfect and will be stored along with the original EMIM.
