Atoll MS120 Streamer

I’m new to streaming music and just bought an Atoll MS120 streamer. I’m a Mcintosh owner since the mid 70’s and super loyal and fully invested in the brand. I went to my local Mac dealer last week fully intending to order the new Mac DS200 streamer for $4,000. But the shop owner, who I have done business with since 1977, talked me out of it!  He said the Mac won’t sound any better than the Atoll and unless I really wanted the Mac look to match all my other gear, I could save $2,400 by getting the MS120. I trust him completely went for it. I haven’t heard the Mac streamer bur man the Atoll sounds amazing. Really easy to set up and operate too. Anyway, that’s my two cents on this and it’s only been a week but. Love the MS120 so far!!!

Always wanted to demo one of their integrated amps & really like the look of their gear,reminds me of the Audio Refinement gear of days past..
Enjoy......

@freediver plus one ...

Always get good press ... I can't wait to hear its equipment, especially integrated.

How is streamer functionally ... SQ?

Tangentially Atoll and Audio Flight remind me of each other ...

@freediver

So far I love it. Functionally it has been super simple to set up and operate. I went from initial plug in to music flowing in 10 minutes.
I run Tidal through the Atoll app which connected instantly and works perfectly. It comes with a full featured remote but I don’t think I’ll use that much at all. I bought a generic and very cheap Android 8” tablet ($75) off Amazon and use that as a touch screen remote. Love it.

Looks like a great little streamer. I have heard their upscale ST300 Signature compared with a Lumin T3 and that Hifi Rose model with the giant display. I felt the Atoll was noticeably superior in sound quality.

Smart idea to pick up a cheap tablet for controls.

Sounds like You have a good dealer there.  See if they will allow you a two week demo on hopefully both pieces or at least on at a time.

All the best.
